cakes... 10/5

so i've made the boy's bday cakes over the last few years, i've done a train, monkey, pumpkin, pirate ship (see back a few posts).  those were fun, but, pretty amature and mostly just frosting with decorations.  i've moved into playing with fondant, and i feel like such an artist! 

my first cake class is this coming thursday, but i wanted to play around a little bit so...

i made this cake last night for fun.  it's dessert for tonight - i'm bringing dinner to my friend who just had her 3rd baby boy. 

yes, i even sculpted this little guy out of fondant!  the hat is exactly what my friend's baby was wearing for his newborn pictures.
